🗣 Speaking at the opening of the judicial year of the Consiglio Nazionale Forense (CNF) in Rome on 13 March 2026, the CCBE President, Roman Završek, highlighted the fundamental role of lawyers in safeguarding the rule of law, ensuring access to justice, and protecting fundamental rights across Europe.
đź’ˇ In his address, he underlined that the independence of the legal profession and lawyer-client confidentiality are structural guarantees of justice systems. At a time when modern forms of criminality and technological developments place increasing pressure on legal systems, he recalled that the rule of law must not become a casualty in the fight against crime.
🤝 The CCBE was delighted to take part in this ceremony alongside leading representatives of the Italian legal and judicial Institutions.
